Join our Woodgreen Volunteer Driving Team in the Peterborough & Fenland areas – Make a difference, have fun & learn new skills!
Our Community Outreach team at Woodgreen is making a real difference to pets and their owners, helping them stay together and preventing unnecessary suffering.
We are looking for caring and reliable volunteer drivers to become a vital part of this life-changing work.
For many people, a lack of transport can be the barrier between getting help and facing the heartbreaking decision to give up a beloved pet. By volunteering with us, you can play a direct role in keeping pets safe, healthy, and where they belong, at home with the people who love them.
What will I be doing?
- Driving a small, manual Woodgreen charity van in the Peterborough and /or Fenland areas as well as to and from our site in Godmanchester.
- Transporting pets in the community to and from vital veterinary or intake appointments.
- Delivering essential supplies such as food and equipment to pet owners in need of extra support.
- Representing Woodgreen in a professional and caring manner to maintain or increase customer satisfaction.
Where is this role based?
Peterborough:
Base/location of van: Cross Keys Homes Limited, Shrewsbury Avenue, Peterborough, PE2 7BZ
Fenland:
Base/location of van: FACT Community Transport, 5 Martin Ave, March, PE15 0AY
What is Woodgreen looking for?
Essential Attributes
- You must be over 18 years old
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare
- A valid UK driving license
- A responsible and reliable nature with excellent timekeeping skills
- The ability to handle animals calmly and confidently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with the Peterborough and/or Fenland area would be advantageous
You’ll be expected to comply with driving licence checks and the Charity’s Driver and Vehicle policy. Plus, complete role specific training and comply with Woodgreen’s policies during induction.

How many hours per week would I be required to volunteer?
We work around you! All voluntary hours are negotiable, and we are very grateful for any time you can give to us.
Availability hours: 07:30am-10:30am & 14:00pm-17:30pm
