Help create a safe, fun and welcoming Kid’s Park by supporting activities, stewarding, and play areas for children and families.

We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to join the Kid’s Park crew and help support the smooth, safe running of this much-loved family area at Strawberry Fair.

Kid’s Park volunteers play a key role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for children, families, performers and activity leaders.

This is a varied and flexible role where you can get involved in different activities depending on your interests and you’ll be supported by a friendly team throughout the day.

Before the Fair, you’ll also have the option to get involved in our relaxed “Painting Party” sessions, helping prepare and decorate the space ready for the big day.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcoming families, answering questions and helping the area run smoothly
  • Supporting craft activities and children’s sessions in the Big Top
  • Supervising bouncy castles and helping manage queues and safe play
  • Helping keep the area tidy and reporting any issues to team leaders
  • Providing general support wherever needed across the Kid’s Park
  • (Optional) Helping decorate and set up the area during pre-Fair Painting Party sessions

What we’re looking for

  • Friendly and approachable attitude
  • Calm and confident in a busy family environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfortable working as part of a team
  • Willingness to get involved and support where needed

No previous experience is required - just enthusiasm and reliability.

Training & support

  • On-site briefings and support provided on the day
  • Steward training available on 20th May (recommended for all, required for stewarding roles)
  • Ongoing support from the Kid’s Park team throughout

Shifts & commitment

  • Kid’s Park open: 12:00–18:00 on Fair Day
  • Flexible shifts arranged across this period
  • Optional pre-event Painting Party sessions: 2nd–5th June

Why volunteer for this role

  • Be part of creating a magical space for children and families
  • Meet a friendly, welcoming team (the Kid’s Park crew!)
  • Gain experience in events, teamwork and working with the public
  • Choose from a variety of roles to suit your comfort and interests
  • Enjoy a fun, creative and rewarding festival experience 🍓
