About Independent Monitoring Boards
Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) members are unpaid public appointees, appointed by Ministers. We report on whether detained individuals are being treated fairly and humanely and are being given the support they need to turn their lives around. This can reduce their risk of re-off ending when released back into the community.
We welcome people from all walks of life, you just need to be over 18 and live within 30 miles of the place you’ll be monitoring. All necessary training and support will be provided during the 12 month induction and mentoring period.
If you are interested in joining, we’re recruiting nationally from 6th March 2025 and the Independent Monitoring Boards at HMP Whitemoor, HMP Littlehey and HMP Highpoint are looking for people who live locally to join their teams.Independent Monitoring Boards
