This role is based in Melbourn, Bassingbourn, and Meldreth. Your base will be our office in Royston.

What will you do?

· Develop and enhance links with local community groups, schools and businesses across our district

· Attend regular outreach sessions each week within the community to give information and signposting details (we are looking for a volunteers who are able to attend a Saturday morning session once a month).

· Make generalist appointments for clients when needed.

· Help maintain and deliver community presentations, making information more accessible where people live and work

· Help individuals access our services, stay engaged with advisers, and complete basic forms (training provided).

· Work with partners to improve referral pathways and highlight key issues faced by the community

· Amplify client voices to support our local and national campaigns

· Publicise and promote our work externally to partners, funders, supporters and local residents using our website, social media, and attendance at local events

Personal skills and qualities that Community Information Assistants need (can include below):

· Understanding of, and commitment to, the aims and principles of Citizens Advice and its equality and diversity policies

· Ability to commit to regular outreach sessions (typically one session a week lasting for 2 hours) and one office-based session.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to build rapport and trust with clients quickly

· Good IT skills, with experience of using social media desirable

· Ability to be self-motivated but also to work as part of a team

· Friendly, approachable and non-judgemental

· Ability to manage time effectively
