Summary

This NHS volunteer role will support the Children’s Physiotherapy Service by helping with patient sessions, collecting feedback and assisting with admin tasks.

Detailed description

Physiotherapy can help children and young people to move better, so they can be more independent and have a better quality of life. Our Children’s Physiotherapy Service provides physiotherapy for children and young people in Cambridgeshire with neurodevelopmental difficulties affecting how they move.

 

This volunteer role will support the Children’s Physiotherapy Service by helping with group/individual sessions, welcoming participants, encouraging young people to carry out their prescribed exercises, gaining feedback about the service provided, and assisting with administration tasks.


Volunteers need to be at least 17 years old.


The role is available at the following locations and times:

Peacock Centre, Cambridge:

Wednesday - 9:00am -12:00pm

Oak Tree Centre, Huntingon:

Monday - 1:30pm – 4:30pm

Wednesday - 2:00pm – 5:00pm


Volunteers might:


Help at face-to-face group/individual sessions:

 

Put out/clear away toys/equipment for the session.

 

Support with infection control measures such as cleaning toys/equipment before and after sessions.

 

Welcome participants and their families.

 

Provide help and encouragement during sessions to participants and their families.

 

Collect/encourage feedback about the service provided.


Report feedback or concerns to the Children’s Physiotherapy Service.

 

Assist the Children’s Physiotherapy Service with admin tasks such as preparing leaflet packs or making telephone calls to remind families of their upcoming appointments.
