We're looking for a confident, creative volunteer to help tell the stories of Cambridge Online by writing our quarterly newsletter.

This role is ideal for someone with journalism, communications, or creative writing experience who enjoys interviewing people, writing engaging articles, and helping share the impact of our work. You'll work closely with our team to produce a newsletter of up to four pages every quarter.

🌟 What You'll Do

    • Write and help produce our quarterly newsletter.
    • Gather stories from staff, volunteers, partners, and people we've supported.
    • Work with the team to plan content and meet publication deadlines.
    • Help showcase the impact of Cambridge Online's work across Cambridgeshire.

✅ Training and Support

You'll receive guidance and ongoing support throughout your volunteering, and we'll provide everything you need to succeed in the role.

🕒 Time Commitment

A few hours each month, with a little extra time in the weeks leading up to each quarterly newsletter.

🎓 What You'll Get

As a Cambridge Online volunteer, you'll receive:

    • Regular support from our friendly team.
    • Access to a wide range of free CPD-accredited courses.
    • Loan equipment (where needed).
    • Volunteer ID, lanyard and promotional materials.
    • Reimbursement of agreed travel expenses.
    • Invitations to volunteer meetups and social events.
    • Valuable experience that enhances your CV and portfolio.
    • The opportunity to make a real difference by helping tackle digital exclusion.

🧩 What We're Looking For

    • Experience in journalism, communications, copywriting, or creative writing.
    • Excellent written communication and proofreading skills.
    • Good organisational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Confidence using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (desirable).
