Join Cambridge Online as a Digital Skills Volunteer and help people gain confidence with everyday digital tasks - from sending emails to staying safe online.

What You’ll Do

You’ll support our friendly team in small community sessions, helping people with:

  • Using smartphones, tablets, and laptops
  • Basic IT skills / How to get online
  • Online safety and digital essentials
  • Accessing services and connecting with others

You will need to have IT background or advanced digital skills (Induction and support are provided)

🕓 When and  Where

We’ll work around your availability (locations can be agreed after first contact).

What You’ll Get

As a volunteer with Cambridge Online, you’ll receive:

  • Regular training and ongoing support
  • Access to the Learn My Way platform
  • Loan equipment (when / if needed)
  • Lanyard, leaflets, business cards, and stand materials
  • Digital badges to recognise your skills so you can add it on your CV
  • Invitations to social events and volunteer meetups
  • Handouts and online learning materials
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses
  • The chance to become part of a welcoming digital inclusion community

 What You Need

  • A positive, patient attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Ideally, candidates will be able to drive
  • Willingness to learn and help others
  • Problem solving skills
  • IT background or advanced digital skills
  • DBS check (organised and funded by us)

Our main centre is at Building 1, Allia Future Business Centre, Kings Hedges Road, CB4 2HY.

We are open from Monday to Friday 9:00 - 16:30.

We have Outreach sessions around Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
