Join us this August and be part of a unique creative project!
Wysing Arts Centre is looking for volunteers to help bring new life to Amphis, an outdoor structure originally created 18 years go by artist Folke Köbberling and a team of volunteers.
Built entirely from recycled materials donated by the public- including old doors, windows, kitchen cabinets and pallets- Amphis became a social space for artists and events.
Now Folke is returning to Wysing for Rethinking Amphis, an exciting project to transform the weathered structure into a new multi-purpose sculptural nest, that will be both a welcoming social space and a habitat for wildlife.
You don't need to be an experienced builder. Whether you're curious about making, enjoy practical projects, are passionate about sustainability, or simply want to try something new and meet people, we'd love to hear from you.
As a volunteer, you'll have the chance to:
- Work alongside artist Folke Köbberling on a live art and architecture project.
- Help build a large-scale timber structure using reclaimed materials.
- Learn about sustainability, reuse, biodiversity and creative construction.
- Meet artists, researchers, local participants and the Wysing team.
