Marketing and Development Volunteer

Objective

To promote the group via social media and in-person engagement, attract support from local services, apply for funding, and transition into a formally constituted group.

1. Promotion & Engagement Strategy

A. Social Media Promotion

• Use Facebook and Instagram to engage with different users.
• Share regular updates, member stories, and upcoming events.
• Post pictures/videos of group activities.
• Use hashtags relevant to the local area (#YourTownName #CommunityInAction).
• Engage followers through polls, Q&A, and testimonials.

B. In-Person Promotion

• Help create and distribute flyer and posters.
• Attend or host stalls at local fairs, markets, or open days.
• Connect with community workers, councillors, and other group leaders.

2. Engage Local Services

• Reach out to Local councils, councillors, community development officers, health and wellbeing hubs, libraries and other local services.
• Offer collaboration opportunities and cross-promotion

3. Funding and Sustainability

• Apply for funds for activities and longevity of the group
• Support the group move to a constituted group.
