Summary

Be alongside members of our Thursday Group for weekly social activities and monthly outings.

Detailed description

The St Paul's Thursday Group includes adults with a range of vulnerabilities, including physical or learning disabilities, mental health challenges, and dementia.

The group meetings weekly on Thursdays for social activities (11am) and lunch (12:30pm).

  • 1st of the month: 11am walk in the Botanic Gardens.
  • 3rd/4th of the month: outing to a local attraction. May be half day or full day.
  • Other weeks: crafts, colouring, board games, or other activities at St Paul's from 11am.

As a volunteer, you would come alongside the group to support with the various activities. You would get to know members of the group, witnessing how community and social connections can be lifegiving for us all, while maintaining appropriate boundaries to the role.

If you can join us for weekly social activities you will get to enjoy crafts led by a member of the group, and there would be scope for you to lead activities yourself if you have interests you would like to share with the group. You would be welcome to stay for lunch, which is £4 for a two course meal.

There is the option to volunteer on a monthly basis as a trips chaperone only, or to accompany the monthly Botanic Gardens walk only.

Getting there

We are right on Hills Road, on several bus routes. There is street parking around the church.
