St Neots Museum needs friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help run our reception desk

St Neots Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11am until 4pm.  On each day there is a morning and afternoon shift, with two volunteers required for each one. The morning shift runs from 10.45am until 1.30pm and the afternoon shift from 1.30pm until 4.15pm.  There is a monthly rota and volunteers can sign up for shifts according to their preferences and availability.

Duties

Locking/unlocking the Museum, switching on/off lights and displays

Setting up the till/cashing up at the end of the day

Welcoming visitors and taking admissions

Dealing with enquiries at the desk and over the phone

Helping families to select appropriate trails and activities

Selling merchandise from the shop

Restocking/merchandising the shop displays

Experience/Skills

There are no specific skills required and training will be provided,  but previous experience of banking, retail, office admin or teaching is beneficial.
