Summary
Drivers and Riders in the Cambridge area required to deliver medications and collect medical equipment to and from private addresses
Detailed description
An opportunity for you to contribute directly towards addressing the bed shortage in the NHS
Addenbrookes Virtual Ward (AVW) trial is dependent on SERV SC members. A Virtual Ward is where selected patients have their post-treatment care continue at home, instead of in hospital. Hospital staff continue to provide care, albeit remotely, until the patient is discharged.
SERV SC's is setting up a dedicated team to support the AVW trial by delivering urgent medications to patients’ homes and collecting items of medical equipment that are no longer required.
Members of this team are expected to do a minimum of two duties a month, more is welcomed.
The duty member must be contactable by phone from 08:00 to 18:00 and be free to respond to incoming tasks.
Members can carry out their task by using their own vehicle or the SERV SC vehicle located at Addenbrookes. To use the SERV SC vehicle you must be over 25 years and we do a DVLA check of your driving licence. Members using their own vehicle will be expected to cover the associated running cost for the first 250 miles each month. Members doing more than 250 miles per month in their own vehicle can claim £0.45 per mile for the additional miles.
SERV SC has a legal requirement for its members to have a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate. We will obtain a DBS certificate on your behalf if you do not already have a Standard DBS
There is a live duty rota published on the SERV SC Web Site. Members provide the Rota Manger with their availability for the upcoming month and the number of duties they wish to do. This information is used to compile the Duty Rota. Unforeseen changes can be resolved by the Rota manager.
New members will have one-half-day classroom training and a familiarisation visit to Addenbrookes.
If you have made it this far, we look forward to you joining the Team. Just complete the Application Form.
