Summary

Would you like to co-ordinate the Poppy Appeal in the Kings Hedges, and Fenditton areas of Cambridge?

Detailed description

Volunteering is a great way of meeting people and making new friends. It is also a good way to gain valuable experience if you are looking to complete your Duke of Edinburgh Award or in addition to looking for work. This exciting volunteering role involves delivering poppies and tins to local businesses and shops throughout the areas of King Hedges and Fenditton in Cambridge, at the beginning of the Poppy Appeal (mid Oct) and collecting them after the Appeal (Remembrance Sunday) and then counting and banking the donations. We would love to hear from groups or organisations that maybe would like to volunteer as a group for this role.

Reasonable out of pocket expenses can be claimed back. ie fuel incurred for distributing poppies.

You don't need to have served or know anything about the Armed Forces Community to join in with the Poppy Appeal. Full training and guidance is provided for the role. Applicants should be over 18 and be able to drive.

About Royal British Legion

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal raises fund to provide vital support for the Armed Forces Community. The Appeal starts mid October and ends on Rememberance Sunday. We Volunteers in lots of different areas to help with the Appeal. Could you help deliver poppies and collecting tins to local businesses and shops and collect them after the Appeal? We also need enthusiastic volunteers to help look after the collection tables in the supermarkets within the County for the two weeks of the Appeal. You don't have to have served or have any knowledge of the Armed Forces Community, just come along and enjoy meeting new people and make new friends. Do you have office experience? Could you help us plan the supermarket rotas? Or could you help count and bank the donations after the Appeal?
We would love to hear from businesses within the County that might like to get involved as part of their corporate social responsibility.
