Could you do some accounting for Avocets? RSPB Cambridge local group needs a new treasurer with basic book keeping skills to help our fundraising activities.

RSPB Cambridge Local Group aims to inspire the communities of Cambridgeshire and beyond to connect with local nature reserves and green spaces and to absorb and appreciate the birds and wildlife on our doorstep.

The Cambridge Local Group can offer people of all ages, backgrounds and experiences a lasting connection to the nature around them through field trips, talks and more, and to provide opportunities to participate at RSPB events which actively help to save nature. Google RSPB Cambridge for more information about us.

In order to continue offering a programme of events in the local area to our members we are looking for a new treasurer to join our committee. This is an exciting role where you will have the scope to support a group that plays a crucial part in reconnecting people with nature.

The role of treasurer is essential in ensuring the group operates effectively and makes a good financial contribution to help the RSPB save nature.

Full training and support will be given to make this voluntary role as manageable as possible.

Our new treasurer will ideally be:

  • Able to attend monthly evening events to collect then bank payments.
  • Comfortable keeping simple accounts.
  • Comfortable handling and accounting for charity money.
  • Well organised and conscientious.
  • Computer literate with internet and email access, and a willingness to engage with internet-based methods of communication.

If you are passionate about helping to support nature in your local area and looking to take action to support the work of the RSPB and the nature and climate movement as a whole, this Local Group role will be a great way to make a real difference.
