Peterborough Cathedral is thrilled to announce the "Monsters of the Sea" exhibition, and we're seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help us bring it to life.

Detailed description

Peterborough Cathedral is thrilled to announce the upcoming "Monsters of the Sea" summer exhibition, and we're seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help us bring this extraordinary event to life.

Scheduled to run from July 15th to September 1st, "Monsters of the Sea" promises to be a captivating, family friendly exhibition with a dynamic series of events running alongside. From ancient sea monsters to modern-day marvels, visitors will embark on a journey through the depths of the ocean like never before.

Volunteers will play a vital role in ensuring the success of the exhibition by assisting with various tasks, including:

  • Greeting visitors and checking tickets.
  • Guiding visitors through the exhibition and providing assistance if needed.
  • Assisting in the Cathedral gift shop
  • Assisting with workshops and accompanying events.
  • Monitoring the exhibition space to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.

No previous experience is necessary, but a passion for people, history, marine life, or storytelling is a definite plus. Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience, meet new people, and contribute to a unique cultural event right in the heart of Peterborough.

There will be two recruitment events on 18th May and 10th June where potential volunteers can find out more about what the role entails.

Volunteers will receive training and support from Cathedral staff and will have flexible scheduling options to accommodate their availability.

If you're ready to dive into a thrilling summer adventure and help Peterborough Cathedral showcase the wonders of the sea, we want to hear from you! All volunteers will be required to complete the Cathedral application form. To apply or learn more about volunteering opportunities, please visit Peterborough Cathedrals website or social media.

Peterborough Cathedral is an inclusive employer, welcoming people from all backgrounds. We have over 300 volunteers supporting the Cathedral in many different roles, and have built a community atmosphere with regular volunteer get togethers.
