Could you spare a day this summer to help a young person grow in confidence?
POP Collective CIC is looking for friendly, supportive volunteers to join our inclusive performing arts workshops for children and young people aged 8–18.
Many of the young people attending have SEND, anxiety, low confidence or find it difficult to access mainstream activities. Our workshops provide a safe, welcoming space where they can be creative, make friends, build confidence and discover what they're capable of.
As a volunteer, you'll support fun creative activities, encourage participation, help young people engage with sessions at their own pace, and work alongside our experienced team to create a positive, inclusive environment. No previous experience is needed—we're looking for people who are kind, reliable and enthusiastic.
Full training and support
Before the workshops, you'll be invited to a volunteer training session covering:
- Safeguarding and your role as a volunteer
- Understanding SEND and creating an inclusive environment
- Communication strategies and supporting different needs
- Positive behaviour support
- What to expect during the workshops
- Practical guidance and the opportunity to meet the team and ask questions
You'll be fully supported throughout the workshops, working alongside experienced staff, so you'll never be expected to manage situations on your own.
What you'll gain
Volunteering with POP Collective is an opportunity to make a genuine difference while developing valuable skills and experience. You'll benefit from:
- Practical experience supporting children and young people
- Experience working in an inclusive, SEND-friendly environment
- Training that will strengthen your CV and future applications
- The opportunity to develop confidence, communication and teamwork skills
- A volunteer reference after successful participation
- The satisfaction of helping young people feel accepted, confident and able to thrive
This role is particularly valuable for anyone considering a career in education, youth work, psychology, social care, healthcare, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, counselling, performing arts or community development.
