Are you passionate about creating safe, inclusive online spaces for autistic people, their families and professionals

Volunteering for the National Autistic Society’s Online Community is a meaningful and flexible way to make a real difference in the lives of autistic people and their families. As a volunteer administrator, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming space where users can share their stories, seek advice, and build supportive relationships.

What you will be doing

  • Ensuring the community is used appropriately and all members follow our rules.
  • Checking user profiles to ensure they adhere to anonymity rules.
  • Checking the moderation queue and approving new user accounts.
  • Ensuring users do not post any identifying details for example, profiles pictures, full names, addresses, links to social medias etc.
  • Collecting feedback.
  • Monitoring spam posts and accounts.
  • Filling in data spreadsheets
  • Sending handover notes to manager/moderation team.
  • Alerting staff to any content that may be a safeguarding concern.
