Why we want you
Our enquiry and signposting service provides impartial, confidential information, advice and support for autistic people and their families to help them get the support they need. Volunteers provide telephone and email support from their own homes.
What you will be doing
- Calling and emailing autistic adults, parents/carers and other enquirers who have contacted the service
- Offering accurate and up-to-date information and advice
- Helping parents, carers and autistic people get appropriate advice and information on a range of topics
- Handling telephone and email enquiries efficiently and appropriately
- Promptly recording details of interactions on the service’s database
- Dealing appropriately with confidential information and documentation in line with the service’s policies.
- The role involves occasional travel to attend our volunteer forums, these are usually held in London, agreed travel and if necessary overnight accommodation will be paid. If travel to these events will be an issue please get in touch as we are able to make reasonable adjustments according to individual needs.
