Have a passion for music, local stories, sport or community issues? Take to the airwaves and create your own radio programme with the support of the MMR Team
Volunteer Radio Presenter / Programme Maker
Have a passion for music, local stories, sport or the issues that matter to your community? Why not take to the airwaves and create your own radio programme?
MoreMuzic Radio is looking for enthusiastic volunteers who would like to get involved in community radio. You might have a particular style of music you love, be passionate about local sport, enjoy meeting interesting people, or simply have ideas and stories you think deserve to be heard.
You don't need to have worked in radio before. Enthusiasm, personality, reliability and a willingness to learn are far more important than previous broadcasting experience.
What could you do?
Depending on your interests, you could:
- Present your own regular music or specialist programme
- Create a programme celebrating a particular genre or era of music
- Cover local sport, clubs and sporting personalities
- Interview local people, charities, community groups and organisations
- Explore local news, events and community issues
- Develop features, competitions and regular programme ideas
- Work alongside other volunteers to create new programmes
- Help discover and promote local talent
- Develop your confidence behind a microphone
- Learn more about how a community radio station operates
