🎤 Volunteer Community Interviewer
Help us tell the stories that matter to our community
Every community is full of people with interesting stories to tell, and you could help us share them.
As a Volunteer Community Interviewer, you'll help create engaging conversations with local personalities, businesses, charities, community organisations, sports clubs and event organisers for our listeners on-air and online.
Whether it's discovering the person behind a local business, celebrating the work of a community group, talking to someone involved in grassroots sport or finding out more about an upcoming event, you'll help bring local voices and stories to life.
No previous interviewing, journalism or radio experience is required. Curiosity, enthusiasm and an interest in people are what really matter.
What could you get involved with?
Depending on your interests and the stories we're covering, you could:
- Interview interesting people from across the local community
- Speak with local charities and voluntary organisations
- Meet people behind local businesses and community initiatives
- Interview players, coaches and representatives from local sports clubs
- Talk to organisers about local events and activities
- Research guests and prepare interesting interview questions
- Conduct interviews in the studio or out in the community
- Help identify people and stories you think we should feature
- Create interviews for use within our radio programmes
- Help produce content that can also be shared through our online channels
