Friendly, chatty, and caring? We need you to raise vital funds for our hedgehog rescue!
I run Luna Hogs Chatteris, a new hedgehog rescue that opened in January 2026 with my husband and a small team of dedicated volunteers. We’re really in need of more help to make this work, and we’re hoping to build not just a team, but a supportive community that cares about these vulnerable creatures.
Caring for sick and injured hedgehogs can be challenging, and we understand that not everyone can commit to set times or regular hours—but every single hour helps. And don’t worry, you don’t even have to handle a hedgehog if you’d prefer not to!
At the moment, I’m especially looking for volunteers who are happy to help with fundraising at local fairs, boot sales, and (in the future) craft shows. This is actually the hardest role for us to fill. It does involve chatting with people, handing out information leaflets, and helping sell items or raffle tickets at a stall.
I’d also love to find people who are interested in learning more about hedgehogs so they can share that knowledge with others. Education is incredibly important to me, especially when it comes to helping children understand how to care for and protect wildlife.
Right now, I’m delivering educational talks myself, but it would be amazing to have others join in—whether that’s speaking to children or adults about hedgehog care, wildlife-friendly gardens, or related topics. I’m more than happy to provide training, and you’ll never be expected to do anything on your own.
