Could you support our charity to develop and build our community of volunteers?Detailed description
HCCN the charity aims to enhance the quality of life of adults living with cancer in Huntingdonshire. We are a volunteer led charity and really value the contribution of everyone who gives their time to us. We’re looking for a volunteer to stay in touch with our volunteers, to help them feel supported, understood, involved and cared about. You'll probably work mostly from home. With training as necessary, you will:
Coordinate the recruitment, on-boarding, training, retention and engagement of our volunteers
Provide ‘Working with Volunteers’ training and resources for volunteer managers
Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, numbers, hours and activities performed
Onboard new volunteers, ensuring they understand the structure of the charity, our vision and values
Regularly check in with volunteers and volunteer managers to assess their satisfaction and gather feedback on their experiences
Review and update existing volunteer policies and procedures to ensure compliance
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience of volunteer coordination, preferably within the Charity sector
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google
- Able to manage difficult conversations
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with volunteers and stakeholders
