Summary

We are looking for people who want to help us improve local health and social care services and ensure that people have equal access to them.

Detailed description

Our Community Listener volunteers gather people’s opinions and experiences to help us gain a picture of how local services are working. They also help us share our message about the work Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough does.

We use the anonymised experiences our volunteers collect to help managers of local services understand what people want and then work with them to put improvements in place.

We are looking for people of all ages and backgrounds to help us engage with as wide a range of people as possible and ensure that people whose voices are less likely to be heard are reached.

No previous experience is required, but it’s important you have good listening skills and want to meet new people. You will receive training to support your volunteering which is flexible and can suit your personal circumstances. Volunteering usually takes place during the day, sometimes at weekends and occasionally in the evenings.

If you volunteer with us, you will:

·      Have an opportunity to meet new people

·      Improve skills that could be a stepping stone into employment or add to your CV

And we can provide references for those completing a project or volunteering with us for three months or more.

If you are interested, please visit our website to complete a volunteer application form or request the link by leaving a message here.

We look forward to hearing from you.
