If you are a parent, grandparent or carer and can spare 2-3 hours per week to support a local family then get in touch.
Can you help local families with young children?
Home-Start Royston, Buntingford & South Cambridgeshire offers a Home Visiting service for local families, where a fully trained volunteer is matched with the family and visits them in their home for a couple of hours each week. The volunteer provides practical and emotional support to help the family work through challenges they are facing, such as:
- Helping them to get out and about, to visit groups or meet people
- Accompanying them to medical appointments, helping to occupy the children whilst the parent is at their appointment
- Signpost the family to other support services, help with paperwork and attend meetings with them if necessary
- Provide strategies and support to assist parents with issues such as routines, healthy eating or managing challenging behaviours
