Could your financial skills help change lives in your local community? Ely Foodbank need your help.

Ely Foodbank is looking for a committed and values-driven Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and play a vital role in guiding the financial health and future sustainability of a charity supporting thousands of people across our region.

This is more than balancing numbers — it’s helping ensure families and individuals facing crisis continue to receive practical support, dignity, and hope. Strong financial leadership has never been more important.

Since 2012, Ely Foodbank has grown into a network of centres supporting communities across Ely, March, Chatteris, Soham, Cottenham, Haddenham, Burwell, and Waterbeach.

As Treasurer, you will:

✨ Provide strategic financial oversight and guidance to the Board

✨ Help ensure the charity remains financially sustainable and well-governed

✨ Support budgeting, reporting, and financial planning alongside our CEO and finance support team

✨ Help shape the long-term future of a vital local organisation

We’d especially love to hear from people who:

• Have experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, banking, or business management

• Can confidently create &  interpret financial reports and budgets

• Care deeply about community impact and social justice

• Want to use their professional skills to make a meaningful difference

Previous Trustee experience is not essential — support, induction, and training will be provided.

📍 Commitment:

• Bi-monthly Board meetings (6 per year), online and in Ely

• Approximately 3–5 hours per month depending on reporting cycles

• Flexible voluntary role with genuine strategic influence

Whilst our vision is rooted in Christian values, we warmly welcome applicants of all faiths and none who share our commitment to compassion, dignity, and community support.
