Curiously Divergent is a neurodivergent-led organisation empowering individuals and workplaces through a whole-life approach to inclusion.

We offer Access to Work support, workplace assessments, coaching, training, and community projects all delivered by people with lived experience of neurodivergence. Our mission is to create a world where neurodivergent people don’t just survive they thrive.

We believe in doing things differently: compassion before compliance, creativity before convention, and people before processes.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Volunteer Events & Fundraising Coordinator to help us bring people together, celebrate neurodiversity, and raise funds to support our growing community programmes.

You don’t need formal fundraising experience we’re looking for someone creative, organised, and passionate about making things happen. Whether you love planning inclusive events, building connections, or finding inventive ways to raise money, we’d love to hear from you.

Main Responsibilities

Essential (core responsibilities):

  • Plan and coordinate small community events, online or in-person (e.g. awareness days, workshops, fundraisers).
  • Support the creation of accessible, inclusive event experiences that reflect our neuro-affirming values.
  • Research and apply for small grants, community funds, or sponsorship opportunities (templates provided).
  • Build relationships with local organisations, venues, and supporters.
  • Work with our Director and social media team to promote events and campaigns.
  • Keep basic records of fundraising activities and funds raised.

Nice to have (optional but helpful):

  • Experience in event planning, fundraising, or marketing.
  • Creative ideas for inclusive events and campaigns (we love unconventional approaches!).
  • Confidence communicating with partners, community members, or donors.
  • Familiarity with digital tools (e.g. Canva, Eventbrite, or Mailchimp).

Working Style & Support

  • Flexible scheduling: You can plan and work around your own energy and availability.
  • Remote-friendly: Most tasks can be done online; event attendance is optional.
  • Accessible communication: We’ll adapt communication to suit your needs written, visual, voice, or asynchronous.
  • Low-pressure approach: We’ll provide guidance, templates, and regular check-ins no “sink or swim”.
  • Collaborative environment: You’ll work alongside a small, supportive, neurodivergent-led team.

You Might Be a Good Fit If...

  • You’re organised, creative, and enjoy bringing ideas to life.
  • You want to help create spaces where neurodivergent people feel seen and celebrated.
  • You enjoy connecting with people and making things happen.
  • You value accessibility, inclusion, and flexibility.
  • You’re reliable, collaborative, and happy to learn as you go.

There’s no “perfect” profile — if you feel this sounds like something you’d enjoy, please get in touch.

Time & Commitment

  • Around 3–5 hours per month (flexible).
  • Occasional online team check-ins.
  • Attendance at events is optional (in-person or virtual).

What You’ll Gain

  • Experience in inclusive event planning and fundraising for a neurodivergent-led organisation.
  • Mentoring and support from our leadership team.
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in your community.
  • Recognition, references, and flexible working that respects your boundaries and wellbeing.
