Volunteer Role: Community Engagement Volunteer
Organisation: Curiously Divergent CIC
Location: Cambridgeshire (with some remote work)
Hours: Flexible – approximately 2–4 hours per week
Reports to: Volunteer Co-ordinator / Director
About Curiously Divergent
Curiously Divergent CIC empowers neurodivergent individuals and the communities around them through coaching, advocacy, and education.
We take a whole-life approach to inclusion supporting people in workplaces, schools, and homes to create environments where neurodivergent people can thrive.
Role Purpose
The Community Engagement Volunteer helps us strengthen our local presence by building relationships with schools, community groups, and partner organisations.
This role is about connection reaching out, listening, and sharing what Curiously Divergent offers in an approachable, authentic way.
It’s perfect for someone who enjoys meeting people, believes in inclusion, and wants to make a tangible difference in their local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Curiously Divergent at local events, fairs, and networking opportunities.
- Build relationships with local schools, parent networks, and community groups.
- Distribute promotional materials such as flyers or information packs in local settings.
- Support the organisation of community workshops or awareness sessions.
- Gather community feedback to help shape our projects and outreach activities.
- Promote a positive, neuro-affirming message in all interactions.
Person Specification
Essential
- Passionate about inclusion and neurodiversity.
- Confident communicating with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Reliable and organised, with good interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable representing Curiously Divergent’s values and ethos.
Desirable
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, education, or events.
- Lived experience of neurodivergence (personal or through family).
- Knowledge of local schools or community networks in Cambridgeshire.
