The Chair guides the club’s direction, liaises with leagues and the FA, supports coaches, leads the Committee and helps shape future development of the Club.

The role

The Chairperson leads the Comberton Crusaders Football Club's (CCFC’s) mission to provide safe, positive, community-centred football for children, promoting the Club's values and long-term development strategy.


They will steer the club’s direction, act as a key link with leagues, parish councils, local partners and the Football Association and leads the Club's committee of volunteers, chairing committee meetings.


Day to day, they back the Club secretaries on discipline and administration, help secure pitches, and ensure clear communication across managers, parents and volunteers.


Impact

The impact of this role is significant: the Chairperson strengthens the club’s governance, keeps football accessible and well-run, and shapes an environment where hundreds of young players can grow, feel included and enjoy their sport.


Skills and characteristics

The volunteer will ideally:

  • Bring strong leadership and good judgement
  • Be a confident communicator who can work with a wide range of people
  • Be organised and reliable
  • Understand youth football (or be willing to learn)


Training

DBS required, FA provides online training, extended handover period with current chairman and ongoing support from Club Secretary.
