City Events are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us make this year’s Fireworks Night a fantastic evening for everyone in Cambridge!
We are looking for volunteers to help with our bucket donation collections. By volunteering, you’ll be playing an important part in helping us keep this much-loved event free to attend for everyone in Cambridge. The event will take place at Midsummer Common on Thursday 5th November 2026, and we’d love you to join us and be part of the team.
We’ll provide you with everything you need for the evening, including a Hi-Vis vest, torch and collection bucket. You’ll also be given an assigned post and a short briefing before heading out to collect donations.
Bucket collections will begin at around 6.30pm, with the fireworks starting at approximately 7pm. All volunteer shifts should finish by 8.30pm, if not earlier.
As a thank you for your help, you’ll receive a food voucher at the end of your shift, which can be used at any of the catering concessions on site. (There will be plenty of choice, including vegan and gluten-free options, with food stalls open from 6pm until 10pm).
And there’s more! We’ll also be awarding prizes to the individual who collects the most donations.
