Help ensure a leading rural charity remains financially resilient, well governed and able to support communities into the future.

Cambridgeshire ACRE is seeking a Trustee & Treasurer to join our Board and help shape the future of rural communities across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

As Treasurer, you will be a full member of our Board of Trustees, helping to ensure the organisation remains financially resilient, well governed and able to deliver lasting impact. You will chair our Finance Committee, support fellow trustees in understanding financial information and contribute to strategic discussions about the future direction of the charity.

This is not an operational bookkeeping role and we are not necessarily looking for someone with an accountancy qualification. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who are confident interpreting financial information, understanding budgets and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Through this role, you will help support work that enables rural communities to thrive. Cambridgeshire ACRE works across a wide range of areas including affordable housing, community wellbeing, village halls, environmental action and rural leadership.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Use your skills and experience to make a difference across an entire county
  • Gain or develop trustee and charity governance experience
  • Work alongside an experienced and supportive Board
  • Contribute to strategic decisions that affect thousands of people living in rural communities
  • Build new networks and broaden your understanding of the voluntary, community and rural sectors

The role involves five Board meetings per year, together with Finance Committee and HR & Trustee Committee meetings. Most meetings are held online and are limited to two hours.

We would particularly welcome applications from people with experience in finance, business leadership, charity governance, parish and town councils or community leadership.

No previous trustee experience is required.

Training, induction and ongoing support will be provided.
