Cambridge Regional College has vacancies for governors on its board. The role involves attending 6 board meetings and 3 committee meetings a year.
The College is looking for two new governors to take the place of retiring members. The College provides opportunities for everyone to improve their education and life chances and we’re looking for new governors to support training and education in Cambridgeshire and the wider area. We are particularly looking for governors with an educational background to join our Learning & Quality Committee which monitors student outcomes, our safeguarding practices and the learner experience. We are also looking for a governor with a legal or financial background to join our audit committee.
As a governor, you will need to be able to commit to approximately 10 meetings a year (normally 2-3 hours in early evening). Additional work includes reading meeting papers, training and attending college events on an occasional basis.
CRC is governed by a Corporation made up of 20 members, including representatives from local business and the community, as well as the staff and student body. As a governor, you will be involved in setting college strategy, the stewardship of funding, safeguarding college assets and ensuring that the quality of the experience that we provide to our students equips them well for their next stage in life. Further details can be found in the Role of the Governor on our website.
