Cambridge Philharmonic is recruiting two new Trustees to help shape our future development and strengthen the sustainability and ambition of our music-making.
Cambridge Philharmonic is seeking to broaden its income generation capability, membership engagement and overall strategic development. We have ambitious musical aspirations and a committed group of volunteers who work hard to put on exceptional concerts. However, with increasing costs and the desire to continue to attract and retain membership in a very competitive music market, we need to grow income from sources other than ticket sales and membership subscriptions.
We require additional expertise and additional capacity to deliver our plans, and this is where you can make a big difference. We have worked with schools and have a good track record of securing grants for additional development work and to support young artists at the beginning of their careers. However, we lack capacity to do a sustainable amount of development work and need to identify how to fund the capacity and integrate it with our music-making.
We are therefore looking for individuals who have relevant experience and energy to devote to the Cambridge Philharmonic and who possess the following:
Essential experience
- Track record in organisational development, such as securing funding or creating new capacity to support or expand activities
- Skills and experience in at least one of the following:
- Major gifts fundraising
- Sponsorship
- Arts grants and funding applications
- Strategic communications
- Financial skills
- Membership engagement
- Arts management
Desirable experience
- Chairing a development and/or fundraising committee
- Experience with financial systems
- Previous experience as a charity trustee
