Support the Histon & Impington Open Gardens event by volunteering for a few hours on 14 June. Help welcome visitors, sell programmes, and support great causes.

Join us on Sunday 14th June 2026 for a lovely, summery, community‑focused volunteering opportunity at Histon & Impington Open Gardens. Cambridge Acorn Project is one of the benefitting charities, and by providing volunteers we help ensure the event runs smoothly while raising vital funds for local children and families.

We’re looking for 10–15 friendly volunteers to help across the day. You can choose from:

  • 11am–5pm
  • 11am–2pm
  • 2pm–5pm

What you’ll be doing:

  • Greeting visitors and offering information
  • Selling programmes
  • Supporting the events team around the village
  • Providing general event assistance as needed

It’s a lovely way to give back, enjoy a summer Sunday, and do something a bit different - come solo, with friends or colleagues.

If you would like to get involved, please complete the sign‑up form. We would love to have you!

About Cambridge Acorn Project

We provide life-changing support to children and their families who have experienced trauma and abuse, and are living in poverty.
We are a small local charity that has a huge impact on families and communities across Cambridgeshire. Our team is made up of dedicated Social Workers, Counsellors and Therapists as well as our incredible volunteers! We work with children and their families who have experienced domestic, sexual, emotional, and/or physical
abuse. As well as this, we work with single-incident trauma such as house fires, floods, or traumatic loss. Many families we support have experienced profound intergenerational trauma and our work is about breaking cycles of trauma and poverty, tackling the inequality that stems from adverse childhood experiences, and helping children and families to emotionally recover.
