About CamSight
CamSight is a local charity supporting people affected by sight loss across Cambridgeshire. We provide practical and emotional support to help people maintain their independence, confidence, and wellbeing.
We are looking for a volunteer with videography, filming, or video production experience to help us create a series of training videos demonstrating sighted guiding techniques.
The Opportunity
Sighted guiding is a technique used to safely support a person with sight loss when navigating different environments. We would like to create a suite of engaging and accessible videos that demonstrate best practice sighted guiding techniques.
Working alongside CamSight staff, volunteers, and people with lived experience of sight loss, you will help plan, film, and potentially edit a series of training videos that will become part of our volunteer training programme and wider awareness training resources.
The videos will help ensure that volunteers, professionals, businesses, and members of the public understand how to provide safe, respectful, and effective support to people with sight loss.
What You'll Be Doing
- Collaborating with CamSight staff to plan video content and filming requirements
- Filming demonstrations of sighted guiding techniques
- Working sensitively with volunteers and people living with sight loss
- Editing footage into clear, professional training videos (if applicable)
- Supporting the creation of accessible and engaging learning resources
- Helping us build a lasting training resource that can be used for years to come
Skills and Experience
We would welcome applications from volunteers who have experience in:
- Videography, filmmaking, or video production
- Video editing software
- Storyboarding or visual storytelling
- Working collaboratively with a range of people
- Communicating clearly and sensitively
Professional experience is welcome, but we would also love to hear from capable and enthusiastic individuals looking to use their skills for a meaningful cause.
