About CPFT (Head to Toe)

Our Voluntary Services team works in partnership with CPFT services, and its charity Head to Toe to enhance patient experience and provide meaningful support during some of life’s most vulnerable moments. Through close collaboration with clinical teams across CPFT, our volunteers offer compassionate, person‑centred support that complements existing care pathways and strengthens the overall quality of care provided to patients and families.
We are proud to deliver the country’s first Community Butterfly Volunteer Service, an innovative end‑of‑life support initiative designed to ensure that no one has to face the final year of life alone. Our trained volunteers provide companionship through regular, supportive visits, helping patients feel seen, valued, and comforted. By being a consistent, compassionate presence, they help make every moment matter for those nearing the end of life.
This service reflects our commitment to dignity, connection, and humanity—enhancing the patient journey and contributing to a more holistic, compassionate experience across CPFT services.
