One connection can make a world of difference. With just one hour a week, you could help someone find theirs.
Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is looking for friendly, encouraging volunteers to support older people experiencing loneliness or isolation.
As an Enabling Connections volunteer, you’ll be matched with an older person and support them for around 1 to 2 hours a week, for up to 6 months. Together, you might rediscover an interest, explore a local group or activity, build confidence getting out and about, learn to use technology to stay connected, or simply take small steps towards feeling more connected.
This is about companionship. Working alongside someone and empowering them to build confidence, independence and lasting connections.
No previous experience is needed. We’ll provide full training, guidance and ongoing support, with a friendly team around you.
You’ll gain valuable skills and experience while making a meaningful and visible difference in someone’s life.

Location: In the community, at the person’s home or at local community venues
Commitment: Around 1 to 2 hours per week for up to 6 months
Age: 18+
