Be a Familiar Face for Addenbrooke's Charity in Your Community

About the Role

Enjoy getting out and about locally and meeting people? This practical volunteer role offers a flexible way to support your hospitals.

Get to know people in your community while supporting your hospitals. You’ll help raise awareness of Addenbrooke's Charity by placing collection tins in local shops, cafés and community venues, then returning periodically to collect them.

This could be a great fit if you’d like a role that:

  • Makes a visible difference
  • Doesn’t require weekly commitment
  • Connects you directly with your community

Ways You Can Get Involved

You’ll take responsibility for a small number of local venues at a pace that suits you.

Community support

  • Asking local businesses if they’ll host an Addenbrooke's Charity collection tin
  • Sharing a little about Addenbrooke's Charity and the difference donations make
  • Being a friendly, positive representative of the charity

Tin collection & support

  • Visiting venues approximately every 3 months
  • Collecting full tins and replacing them with new ones
  • Returning tins to the Addenbrooke's Charity team and keeping them updated

Every tin you place and collect helps fund better care for patients.

We'll Support You Along the Way

The Community Fundraising Team will support you throughout your volunteering. You won’t be on your own as you get to know local venues and help turn their generosity into better care for patients.

Is This Role Right for You?

You don’t need previous experience — just:

  • A friendly and positive approach
  • Confidence talking to people (or willingness to build it)
  • Reliability and basic confidence handling money

Being able to travel to local venues is helpful.

If you’re friendly, enthusiastic and would enjoy supporting your community’s generosity, we’d love to hear from you.

Flexible. Local. Impactful.
