Be the Face of Change in Your Community!

About the Role

Enjoy meeting people and sharing a cause you care about? As an Addenbrooke's Charity Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll be a friendly representative in your community, raising awareness, building relationships and helping people discover ways to support our hospitals.

This is a varied and sociable role that suits people who enjoy being out in their community, meeting new people, and making a visible difference.

Ways You Can Get Involved

Choose the activities that suit your interests and availability—you don’t need to do them all. You might enjoy giving a short talk, helping with collection tins or welcoming people at an event. There are different ways to make a difference, so you can focus on what feels right for you.

Community engagement

  • Giving short talks about Addenbrooke's Charity (online or in person – training provided)
  • Raising awareness locally and sharing Addenbrooke's Charity’s fundraising opportunities
  • Introducing Addenbrooke's Charity to local businesses, groups, and organisations

Fundraising support

  • Helping place and collect charity tins in local shops and venues
  • Promoting our “volunteer with a friend” initiative
  • Supporting the set‑up of new local fundraising groups

Event support (when available)

  • Being a welcoming face at fundraising events
  • Helping with event set‑up and clear‑down
  • Cheering on participants and handing out refreshments

We'll Support You Along the Way

We’ll help you get started with full training and ongoing support. You won’t be on your own: the Addenbrooke's Charity Fundraising Team will guide you, answer questions and support you throughout your volunteering.

Is This Role Right for You?

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and walks of life. Diversity makes our charity stronger, and we value the unique perspectives each volunteer brings.

No previous fundraising experience is needed. Bring your enthusiasm, reliability and a desire to help your community—we’ll support you as you learn about our work and build your confidence.

Flexible. Friendly. Impactful.
