Be a Familiar Face for ACT in Your Community!
About the Role
This is a simple, practical, and highly effective volunteer role that fits easily around your life.
As a Tin Collection Coordinator, you’ll help raise awareness of ACT by placing charity collection tins in local shops, cafés, and community venues — and collecting them periodically.
It’s perfect if you enjoy being out and about locally and want a role that:
- Makes a visible difference
- Doesn’t require weekly commitment
- Connects you directly with your community
✅ You’ll be fully supported by the Community Fundraising Team throughout.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll take responsibility for a small number of local venues at a pace that suits you.
Community support
- Asking local businesses if they’ll host an ACT collection tin
- Sharing a little about ACT and the difference donations make
- Being a friendly, positive representative of the charity
Tin collection & support
- Visiting venues approximately every 3 months
- Collecting full tins and replacing them with new ones
- Returning tins to the ACT team and keeping them updated
Every tin you place and collect helps fund better care for patients.
The Difference You’ll Make
While each donation may be small, together they add up to something powerful.
Your role helps support:
- Improved patient experience
- Access to specialist equipment
- Recruitment of expert staff
- Research into future treatments and cures
💙 You’ll be part of a team ensuring our hospitals continue to go further for our community.
Who Can Apply?
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, ages, and walks of life. Diversity makes ACT stronger, and we value what each person brings.
You don’t need previous experience — just:
- A friendly and positive approach
- Confidence talking to people (or willingness to build it)
- Reliability and basic confidence handling money
🚗 Being able to travel locally is helpful, but flexibility matters more than perfection.
