Use your digital skills to help others. Join AbilityNet volunteers supporting older and disabled people with tech through one‑to‑one advice at home or online.

Many older people and disabled people experience difficulties with their technology - our wonderful volunteers provide one-to-one IT and technology support remotely and through home visits.

People who contact us for support with their devices often need a trustworthy person to offer independent advice and guidance.

AbilityNet Tech volunteers use their digital or IT skills to help them in all sorts of ways - from showing how to shop online to setting up an email account, from helping an older person with their general computer usage to assisting with special hardware and software adaptations that would meet a disabled person's specific needs.

Remember you don't need to be very techy yourself, if you know basics like emails, facebook, online shopping - you are already an expert in most of our client's eyes :)
