More children want to join Squirrels than we have spaces for. Help us open a 2nd Drey and give more 4 to 6-year-olds the chance to bmake friends and have fun.

If you love encouraging young children, getting involved in fun activities, and helping build confidence from an early age, then becoming a Squirrel Team Member could be the perfect role for you.

As part of our team, you'll help deliver exciting sessions for 4 to 6-year-olds, supporting them as they make friends, develop new skills and discover just how much they can achieve.

What might you do?

  • Lead games, stories and activities
  • Help young people earn badges and celebrate achievements
  • Support simple outdoor adventures and visits
  • Get creative with crafts, songs and imaginative play
  • Work with other volunteers to plan engaging sessions
  • Encourage Squirrels to build confidence and independence

One week you might be helping Squirrels go on a teddy bears' picnic, create colourful masterpieces, or complete a nature scavenger hunt. The next, you could be exploring different cultures, learning simple life skills, or leading games that get everyone moving and laughing. At Squirrels, every session is full of discovery, excitement and first-time experiences.

What do you need?

A positive attitude, plenty of enthusiasm, and a willingness to get involved.

You don't need previous Scouting experience, teaching qualifications, or specialist skills. We'll provide all the training and support you need. If you're happy to encourage young people, join in with activities, and have fun along the way, you'll fit right in.

The best bit

You'll help shape some of a child's earliest adventures, building their confidence, curiosity and sense of belonging.

And while the Squirrels are learning new things every week, chances are you'll learn a few things too.
