Help us open a new Cub Pack and give more children the chance to discover adventure, friendship and new skills.
If you enjoy trying new things, getting stuck into adventures, and helping young people grow in confidence, then becoming a Cubs Team Member could be right up your street.
As part of the team, you'll help create unforgettable experiences for 8 to 10½-year-olds. One week you might be teaching them how to build a campfire or navigate with a map. The next, you could be running a giant game, leading a creative challenge, or cheering them on as they earn a badge they've worked hard for.
What might you do?
- Plan and run fun activities and games
- Help Cubs learn new skills and earn badges
- Support trips, visits, camps and sleepovers
- Encourage Cubs to try new things and challenge themselves
- Work with other volunteers to create an exciting programme
- Celebrate achievements, big and small
One evening could see you helping Cubs build the tallest spaghetti tower imaginable. Another might involve investigating a local museum, baking a tasty treat, learning about the world around them, or tackling a problem-solving challenge as a team.
What do you need?
Enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a willingness to give things a go.
You don't need to be an expert camper, climber, crafter, scientist or sports coach. In fact, many volunteers discover new interests alongside the Cubs they support. If you're happy to learn, encourage others, and have a bit of fun along the way, we'll help with the rest.
The best bit
You'll be making a real difference to young people's lives while making friends, learning new skills, and having plenty of adventures yourself.
After all, Cubs isn't just about helping young people discover what they're capable of. It's about discovering what you're capable of too.
