Detailed description

1st Cambridge (Orchard Park) Scouts are looking for a dedicated and organised individual to take on the role of Group Quartermaster.


This is a volunteer role that exists to make sure that 1st Cambridge (Orchard Park) Group:

  • Maintains and organises the Group’s equipment and stores.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean, safe, and in good working order.
  • Prepare and check equipment before and after camps and events.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and manage stock levels.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of equipment as needed.
  • Work closely with the Group Lead Volunteer and other volunteers to support the Group’s activities.


The role has the following requirements:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the values and ethos of Scouting.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training.

1st Cambridge (Orchard Park) offers fun, adventure, and skill-building for young people aged 4–14 through Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts. Led by trained volunteers, the group runs weekly meetings, outdoor activities, and community projects. It fosters teamwork, confidence, and resilience while promoting values like respect and integrity. Each group is part of a wider district and county network, ensuring support and continuity.
