We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic volunteer to support our heritage project.
The project aims to gather and store historical accounts about the National Autistic Society from key contributors over the last 60 years.
All of the activities we carry out are essential in supporting and raising awareness of the National Autistic Society’s work, so you would be helping us to make a real difference.
What you will be doing
- Listening to pre-recorded audio material and corresponding transcribed material to ensure that it is an accurate reflection of the account, editing where necessary
- Storing the edited content on agreed NAS systems
- Liaising with the project lead, project officer and NAS web team to ensure effective storage
- Liaising with the project lead and project officer to devise a user-friendly journey to accessing the information
The skills you need
- Confident use of MS Office & Virtual meetings software e.g. MS Teams
- Good written and spoken communication skills
- Good administrative skills
- Great proofreading skills and great attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for collaboration and team working
- Confident carrying out tasks independently
- Enthusiasm for and interest in volunteering within a not-for-profit industry
- You will need access to your own computer and a good internet connection
- You will need to provide 2 references
- Criminal Record check may be required dependent on where the role is taking place
When and where
- This is a home-based role
- We are ideally looking for someone who can start as soon as possible and volunteer for two days per week. As this is home based, those hours can be flexible but any meetings would be held during office hours (Mon - Thurs 9am -5pm)
- We expect the role will be for approx. 4 to 5 months until early 2025
